“I’m hiring for a porno” come-on strikes out

September 28, 2008, 12:39 PM
A woman reported a creepy encounter at Cermak and Ridgeland with a man who drove away south on Ridgeland in a Pontiac.  Police ran the license plate and found it led to a sex offender, age 33-- listed in the state registry as a “sexual predator"*—who lives in the 3700 block of Highland.

The victim, a teenage female, said she was walking north on Ridgeland when a man in a silver car called out to her.  He asked whether she was interested in acting, since he was making a movie and could pay a “few thousand dollars”. The woman said no, but the man persisted.  Eventually, however, he asked what she thought of X-rated movies; the victim stated she was not interested.  The man then asked if he could give her a ride; the victim walked away.

Police located the man and advised him to refrain from making contact with women on the street.

A police sergeant noticed a man urinating on the east wall of Cigars and Stripes tavern, 6510 Ogden.

The sergeant spoke with the owner of Cigars and Stripes who told him this is an ongoing problem with patrons leaving LaQuinta and urinating on his building every weekend, forcing him to wash off the wall with a hose the next morning.  Police charged Ernesto A. Martinez, 25, of 2337 north Springfield, Chicago, with disorderly conduct/public urination.
