Man thinks Doberman attacked his Chihuahua

A man walking a Chihuahua in the 3000 block of Clarence reported a large brown dog, possibly a Doberman, attacked his dog, though police did not find the aggressor.

Black spray-painted graffiti was found on a wall in the 6900 block of Pershing.
Injured cars

Someone hit a Hyundai Excel, pushing it to the curb in the 3800 block of Kenilworth. Someone also broke into a white Econoline van parked in the 3500 block of Highland. An unknown offender broke off the driver’s side mirror on a 1995 Toyota Camry while it was parked in the 1600 block of Highland. And a Chicago man flagged down an officer to report someone broke a window on his Chrysler Cirrus parked in the 6400 block of 27th St. The burglar also stole the in-dash radio.
Landscaping hurt in hit and run

A man in the 3500 block of Highland heard a loud motor racing toward his house, then saw a white Dodge pickup truck lose control and drive up onto his parkway. The truck damaged the new sod, struck landscape rocks and continued eastbound on 35th and a high speed. The 40-year-old victim was able to note the license plates, which were registered to a Kevin K. Lemke of Romeoville. Mr. Lemke was sent a letter advising him of the incident.
Tools removed from Euclid garage

The side door of a garage in the 1300 block of Euclid was forced open. Someone stole two boxes of miscellaneous tools, an extension ladder and an air compressor.
Stranger pops out of yard

A man drove home to his alley in the 1600 block of Clinton. There, he was surprised to find a blue Dodge Durango parked blocking his garage. Next, he saw a man in a tan shirt and shorts run out of his back yard and flee in the Durango, which had dealer plates.
Smrz Park in the dark

Two men spotted in Smrz Park, 3400 Highland, while it was closed to the public, tried to flee police. One, a 23-year-old man from the 2100 block of Grove was cited for violating the park’s curfew. The other man, 24-year-old Robert Ramos of Hoffman Estates, got the same ticket and was also held by police because he was wanted on a Douglas County warrant.
Thief jacks up car to take tire

The right front wheel was stolen from a 2002 silver Ford sedan parked in the Vacin Fairway 6300 block. The 31-year-old Cicero man who owned the car found it up on a jack with the wheel gone.
Restaurant worker molested

A Chicago woman says she was accosted by a man in the 6900 block of Cermak. The 21-year-old reported the 50-year-old man kissed her cheek and grabbed her breasts before she fled into a business. She told police the man drives an old red Volvo, out of which he often sells socks and pillows. He is described as white, 6’1”, 200lbs, with white hair, a grey flannel shirt, olive pants and brown boots.
SUV towed for noise violation

A 1995 maroon Chevy SUV making too much noise at 16th and Elmwood was impounded. The driver received tickets for the noise violation and for not wearing a seatbelt.
Man remembers to latch trailer to SUV, forgets to latch self into seatbelt

A silver Chevy Blazer towing a trailer with a jet-ski on it had an unbelted driver, so it was stopped at 16th and Elmwood. The driver, a 35-year-old man from the 1800 block of Clarence, was ticketed for neglecting to wear a seatbelt and for driving with a suspended license.
Cop doesn’t buy new excuse for car noise

An officer at 16th and Elmwood stopped an extremely loud 2007 Suzuki SUV driven by a 39-year-old man from the 1500 block of Clarence. The man asked the officer to give him a “break,” because he had just returned from the Puerto Rican Day parade. The officer explained that the noise violation penalty was non-negotiable. The driver then refused to sign his citation. The vehicle was impounded anyway.
Aurora man’s truck impounded at 16th and Gunderson

A 2002 Ford pickup truck was impounded for being too loud near 16th and Gunderson. The $500 noise ticket was issued to the 25-year-old Santiago Meza of Aurora.
Aggressive pitbull reported

A woman reported a pitbull was barking at residents in the 1600 block of Oak Park Avenue. The aggressive white and brown female had no tags.
Unknown cause for alley fire

Berwyn firefighters put out a garbage can fire of unknown origin in the 1800 block of Wesley. The siding of a nearby garage was damaged by the fire.
