Not long after that, a 31-year-old man driving a gold Ford Explorer got ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt, no license at all and driving with only one red tail light. May 10, 2007, 5:06 PM
A 26-year-old man told police a guy in a Saturn stopped at 35th and Elmwood to yell at a young man walking down the street.  The witness says he told the guy to ‘leave the kid alone”.  The Saturn driver then reportedly insulted the witness, shook his fist, threatened him and said he’d be back, with the added caveat “You don’t know who you’re messing with, I’m a cop!” The witness noted the Saturn’s license plate number.  When Berwyn police ran the plate through the computer to check it, it returned “no record.”

Leaving scene represented as good citizenship

May 10, 2007, 4:11 PM
A caller alerted police to a hit and run accident at 21st and Oak Park Avenue.  Witnesses heard a loud crash, then saw a black Chrysler, badly damaged. The offender, in a white 1998 Cadillac Deville featuring front end damage to match that of the black car, was last seen southbound on Oak Park Avenue.  Police quickly located the white Caddy, which was parked in the Oak Park/Euclid alley.  The driver, a 19-year-old woman from the 6700 block of 21st, told police she drove it to the alley so it would not block the street.  The car was registered to her boyfriend.  The woman was positively identified by fingerprints.  She was ticketed for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, displaying suspended registration and driving with a suspended license.
