Another $1000, people!

April 15, 2007, 11 AM
A 20-year-old man driving a grey Ford Crown Victoria erred in allowing his sound system to be heard 120 feet away as he drove at Cermak and Harlem. Violating the local noise ordinance cost Carlos Moreno of Cicero $500 – the price to redeem the impounded car.  In the same location a couple of hours later, a 29-year-old Berwyn man met the same fate in his grey 2007 Chevy truck, which assaulted ears as far as 150 feet away.

Police arrest foul-mouthed, aggressive woman at Inclusive nightclub

April 15, 2007, 2:05 AM
An officer was flagged down by a guard from Inclusive nightclub, 6317 Roosevelt Rd. He pointed out a man who had picked up a security guard’s radio and, the guard said, would not return it.  The man was still standing in front of the club, wearing a blue hoody. After speaking with police, the man returned the radio.  While at the scene, an officer suggested several times that a disruptive Chicago woman should leave. The woman, age 27, was very loud; she yelled obscenities at all officers on the scene, bumped one of them in an aggressive manner, and was arrested.  At the station, the woman gave a false name; she was ultimately identified through her fingerprints.  She turned out to have an active warrant from Lake County. The woman was charged with disorderly conduct and attempted obstruction of justice; bond was set at $40,000.
Later in the day: booking officers said the prisoner was behaving irrationally in her cell.  After receiving her meal, she screamed at police and threw her food, some of which hit a computer monitor and some an officer’s shirt.  Next, she made a gesture as if hanging herself with her blanket.  Because of this, she was taken to MacNeal hospital for evaluation.

Forest Park men charged in Roosevelt Road beating of Berwyn man

April 14, 2007, 11:15 PM
Three Forest Park men have been charged with battery in the beating of a 39-year-old Berwyn man.  The victim was walking on Roosevelt near the Shell station when he says three men approached him and said “What are you looking at?” They accused him of using a racial slur towards them, and began to yell and attack him; the victim said when he fell to the ground they continued to punch him and kick him in the head.  A man in a white van saw the attack and pulled into the Shell lot to help the victim.  A woman in a nearby apartment saw the attack and ran outside.  The three men fled on foot to Forest Park as police arrived, but were quickly taken into custody.  The victim denied insulting anyone; he identified the three men arrested as his attackers.  Charged with one count of battery each are Forest Park residents Lavelle Chapel, age 18; Jeremy Harris, age 18, and Steven Brown, age 19.
