Officers found three spent shell casings and three projectiles in the alley of the 1500 block of Euclid/Oak Parl Avenue, as well as bullet holes in a car. Police felt the witnesses were not being entirely candid in their recollections. One witness, a 22-year-old Cicero man, said he did not want to say more in front of his dad. At this, the men attacked him with the metal pipe, drawing blood. This happened several times in the past, and left her carless for days at a stretch. The husband has an extensive criminal background including drug arrests, and did a similar disappearing act with a friend’s car in March of this year. The man demanded the car keys, and they struggled. The man forced the wife to the ground, sat on her with his knee to her chest, and cut her stomach and left arm. He then fled, but not before he removed fuses from the wife’s car so it could not be driven. He faces a charge of domestic battery.
