I dream of things that never were and ask – why are you frisking me?

May 2, 2007, 7:55 AM
Police were sent to find a man who reportedly waved a knife around in a threatening manner at the Harlem-Cermak bus shelter, then boarded a Pace bus.  The witness who called 911 said she feared for her safety, and was afraid to enter the bus because he was on it. They stopped the bus at Oak Park Avenue and Cermak. A witness pointed out the man, who was asked to exit the bus.  The man, Robert Kennedy, smelled of alcohol and police patted him down for officer safety. When asked if he had a knife on him, Kennedy replied “I had a kitchen knife, not a damn gun!” He grew increasingly uncooperative, stating “I didn’t slice her throat!” He was arrested, and told police he threw the knife in the trash at the bus stop.  Police checked, but it was not there.  Kennedy was ticketed for disorderly conduct.
