Middle school damage

A window at Jefferson Middle School was found damaged, possibly by a rock. The broken window was 40 feet above the ground.

Estranged husband enraged at sight of hickey

Passersby alerted police to a fight in progress in the 1600 block of East, in which a man was repeatedly hitting a woman. Cops caught up with the offender as he walked away northbound in the 1500 block. The 28-year-old man denied striking the victim, his estranged 24-year-old wife. The woman told police the two were talking when the man noticed she had a hickey. He became furious, pulled her hair and hit her in the head and face, she said, then kicked her when she fell down. Later, however, she refused to sign a complaint.

Carlos A. Robledo, 19, of Cicero, who was stopped by police in the 2400 block of Ridgeland for not wearing his seatbelt, was also cited for driving without license or insurance.
Someone mistreats truck

A man who parked his Toyota truck in the 2600 block of Oak Park Avenue reported someone scratched, dented and broke a piece off his vehicle.
Headbutt saves woman from armed robber

A 50-year-old Cicero woman told Berwyn police a man tried to rob her at knife point at 1 AM. She said she was about to pump gas into her car at the station at 1600 S. Ridgeland, when a man in a white vehicle parked on the other side of the pump. As she prepared to swipe her credit card, the man came from behind her and held a knife to her neck as he tried to take the card. The woman hit him by smashing him in the face with her head, causing the offender to release her and flee. She could only describe him as a short, heavy white male with curly hair.

Someone wrote with black marker on three trucks in the 6600 block of 26th Street. The owner thinks the offenders live in the 2500 or 2600 block of Clarence.
And in the 6400 block of 33rd, someone used black spray paint to vandalize a garage door.
BB breaks truck window

A 1998 Chevy pickup in the 1900 block of Clarence had a window broken, apparently by a BB.
Fights apparently satisfactory to all participants

Police arrived at the 7-11 parking lot at Oak Park and 26th on reports of a fight in progress. They saw two females chase a 33-year-old woman around a car, then start to fight. As this fight was being broken up, officers noticed two men start their own fight. A 26-year-old Berwyn man took off his shirt and threatened a 20-year-old Elmwood Park man. Everyone else fled the scene as backup arrived. The Elmwood Park man, Carlos Arce, said he was inside 7-11 when a man in the store asked “What are you looking at?” Arce responded “I ain’t looking at you, bitch.” Two men then jumped him, so Arce called friends to join the fight. Others involved were three 19-year-old females and one 18-year-old male. After all this hullabaloo, not one person would sign a complaint.
Suspects deny window breaking

A 25-year-old Chicago woman reported someone broke a window on her car, which was parked in the 2900 block of Harlem. Police knew Riverside had arrested four teens for similar activity two blocks north. An officer spoke with them, but the boys would not admit to the 2900 block vandalism.
No lights, no license, no insurance

AN officer in the 6500 block of Cermak stopped a 2005 Honda sedan for driving without headlights. The driver, a 23-year-old woman from the 1500 block of Clarence, was cited for that and for having no license or insurance.
Stereo taken from van

Police in the 1800 block of Grove found a black Chevy van with one window broken out, and contacted the owner. The owner said his stereo had been stolen from the truck.
Golf-club wielding gangbangers alleged

Police were sent to a gas station to speak with a reported battery victim, a 16-year-old boy from the 1300 block of Maple. The boy told police he and some friends were walking near 14th and Harlem when some guys jumped out a red Saturn yelling gang slogans, then charged at the boys with golf clubs. The boy said the driver looked Asian and the passengers appeared Hispanic. One victim had a cut, bleeding head. Another 16-year-old had a bump on his head, and a fourth victim—a Maywood 17-year-old—said he had been stabbed.
Chicago man gets tickets in Berwyn accident

Efrain Obispo, 35, of Chicago, received tickets for improper backing and driving without a valid license, following an accident in the 7100 block of Ogden.
Loose Husky trails leash

A black and white male Husky was found at large at 15th and East. It wore a white, green and red collar and a red leash, but had no tags.
