Speed stops, licensing problems

In the 2700 block of Oak Park, an eastbound black Jeep was clocked doing 55 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.  Driver Daryl D. Hayward, 34, of Riverdale, was cited for speeding as well as for driving with a suspended license, and the Jeep was impounded.

A blue Jeep was stopped in the 6200 block of Ogden for doing 45 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.  Driver Marcos Ortega, 37, of Cicero, had a license that had been revoked.  Ortega said the Jeep’s owner was aware he had the vehicle.  After hearing his Miranda rights, Ortega told police his license was revoked for three previous DUIs and that he knows he should not be driving. He was charged with felony aggravated driving with a revoked license, driving with a revoked license and speeding.  The Jeep was impounded.

A silver Chevy Malibu was stopped for doing 41 MPH in a 30 MPH zone in the 6500 block of Ogden.  Drier Eluisides J. Perez, 29, of the 5000 block of south LaCrosse, Chicago, got tickets for speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance and driving while his license was suspended.  The car was impounded.
