“It’s not even f@#%*^g real!”
May 17, 2008, post midnight, predawn
A bartender at Double Olives, 7109 Roosevelt, called police to report a fight. Responding officers spoke to a man who said another man pointed a gun at him. The victim pointed out a 32-year-old Cicero resident as the man with the gun. An uninvolved man, of the same address and surname as the alleged offender, appeared intoxicated and grew belligerent with police during the investigation.
The victim said the offender took the dark-color semi-automatic weapon into the trunk of a silver Mercedes parked in front of the bar. The offender was placed in custody. When told the Mercedes would be towed and a warrant obtained to search the trunk, the offender said, “Let me go to my house and get the other keys, the gun’s fake, it’s in the trunk, it’s not even f@#%*^g real!” The gun did turn out to be fake. It was a starter pistol designed to look like a mini-Glock. The man was released.
In an unrelated incident in the same place, a 41-year-old man from the 1200 bliock of Maple accused a fellow bar patron—a 22-year-old Northlake man—of biting him hear the nipple. That victim later chose not to sign a complaint.
