Dog seizes open-gate opportunity to bite leashed dog

May 12, 2008, 6:24 PM
A woman from the 3000 block of Oak Park told police she was walking her terrier-mix dog on its leash in the 3000 block of Wesley/Clarence alley when she saw a male Shih-tszu mix emerge from a back yard through an open gate.  The at-large dog attacked her dog, she reported, leaving puncture wounds.  Police spoke to the biter’s owner, who said she saw the open gate when she let her dog back inside, but was unaware he had left the premises.  Mary E. Thompson, 3028 Clarence, was cited for having a dog with no tags and having a dog at large.
