Wanted for desertion

May 13, 2008, 12:13 AM
An officer noticed an older white Cadillac Fleetwood because it was not running, just sitting, in the “thruway”—not a designated parking spot—at White Castle, 7155 Ogden.  The driver appeared to be slumped down.  When approached, the driver told the officer the Caddy ran out of gas and he was just waiting for a friend—a 22-year-old Lyons man—to come back with some fuel for it.  Police checked the name of driver Andre D. Cannon, 22, of New Orleans, Louisiana; there was an active “military desertion” warrant in his name from the United States Navy.  Cannon was taken into custody and police alerted the Navy investigator to his presence.
