Berwyn Police Blotter

Zombie stop

October 18, 2007, 2:54 PM
WEDGE task force officers stopped a silver Nissan Maxima at Cermak and Euclid.  The driver, 21-year-old Luis Franco of the 2400 block of Harvey, presented an expired driver’s license to police.  Officers could see a hand-rolled marijuana cigarette on the vehicle’s floor; it weighed 2.2 grams.  The Nissan also contained a 1/2 empty 1.75 litre bottle of Bacardi “Zombie” rum.  The car was impounded.  Franco was charged with possession of marijuana, transportation of open alcohol, and driving with an expired license. The drugs and alcohol were confiscated.
