Berwyn Police Blotter

Wrong way, with Corona

May 24, 2008, 1:53 AM
Police stopped a gold Honda sedan after seeing it travel northbound on one-way southbound Highland in the 2500 block.  Driver Marcos Perez, 34, of Cicero, was arrested.  Police found two open, half-full bottles of Corona beer in the front seat, still cold to the touch.  Four more unopened Coronas were also in the car.
One at the station, Perez was unccoperative with police, refusing to give his name and birth date.  He resisted being fingerprinted, but police finally identified him via prints.  They also learned Perez was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of the Wheeling police department.  The car was impounded and Perez was cited for improper lane use, illegal transportation of open alcohol, driving without insurance and driving unlicensed.
