Woman arrested for battery at La Ultima Copa

A 28-year-old LaGrange woman with a scratch near her eye said another woman hit her in the face with a beer can at La Ultima Copa (Last Call) tavern, 6305 26th St. Police arrested 21-year-old Jessica Cortez, Northlake, and charged her with battery. Mysteriously, while police were on scene, officers saw a clear bag possibly containing cocaine; no other information, such as amount and ownership, was available. The mystery powder was recovered and placed in an evidence locker.
