Window-smashing Chicago men caught

June 10, 2007, 2:17 AM
Police responded to a report of a broken windshield in the 3200 block of Harlem.  One officer en route stopped two men who matched the description of the offenders. The victim identified both men and said she saw one of them throw a rock at the car.  He was Jose Cortez, 18, of the 1300 block of west 19th, Chicago. The other was Edgar M. Zuniga, 18, of the 3300 block of west 37th Place, Chicago.  At the scene police learned a second nearby vehicle—a Chevy Blazer parked in the 7100 block of 31st—also had a shattered rear window. The two men were both charged with two counts unlawful damage to a vehicle and one count of unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.
