July 20, 2008, 8:16 AM
Police spoke to a battery victim at MacNeal hospital. The 48-year-old man, a resident of the 3600 block of Maple, said he came home and saw his fiancee’s 31-year-old son lying on the cover of the backyard hot tub. Because of his addiction to heroin, the younger man is not permitted in the house. The victim said the younger man punched him in the face, leaving him unconscious, and more damage appeared to have been done after the victim passed out, because police found pools of blood at the scene. Eight photos were taken of the victim’s facial injuries. The victim’s wallet was found on the ground at the scene; $100 was missing. The offender, a homeless heroin addict, is know to frequent the west side of Chicago and numerous motels in Lyons, as well as a bar in the 7000 block of Ogden. He is being sought on charges of aggravated battery and robbery.
