Vehicle strikes intoxicated pedestrian
May 1, 2008, 11:20 PM
An officer responding to a car vs. pedestrian accident found a woman lying semiconscious in the middle of the 6300 block of 26th St. Witnesses and the driver of the vehicle, a Cicero man, said the woman was walking a dog when she fell. He and witnesses said he swerved to avoid her but may have struck her foot. The victim’s dog was recovered. The driver passed all field sobriety tests, blew a .000 on the Breathalyzer, and was cited for driving unlicensed and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
The victim—a 45-year-old Cicero woman—had a blood alcohol level of .263, more than three times the legal limit.
