Berwyn Police Blotter
Used-car sales in alley prohibited
January 15, 2008, 5:45 PM
In the 1800 block of the Clarence/Wesley alley, police saw three men come out of a garage and enter a silver Mitsubishi Galant with Indiana plates. When the officer ran the plate, it came back “stolen”. The officer spoke with driver Jose Daniel Flores, 23, of Cicero, who said he had bought the car at an auction. Flores also told police he is an auction dealer and also purchased a second car and placed it in the garage from which the men had just emerged. All three men were asked to exit the Galant. The front-seat passenger, 35-year-old Raul Miranda of the 1900 block of Maple, had an active Berwyn arrest warrant. The rear-seat passenger, Michael E. Casillas, 30, of Cicero, told police he had just bought the Chevy Trailblazer parked in the Clarence garage; he stated he intended to repair the vehicle, then sell it at Miranda’s address. Flores, Miranda and Casillas were each given a ticket for operating a business without a license.
