Berwyn Police Blotter

Urination used to display contempt for arrest after DUI-related crash

February 9, 2008, 8:49 PM
A Berwyn police department booking officer reported that a man, while being held in the holding cell area on a DUI charge following a car crash, urinated on the wall and floor of the communal cell.  When asked about his behavior, prisoner Rene L. Armendariz, 51, of the 3400 block of Lombard, Cicero, said he figured since he was “being arrested for no reason” he did not think it was wrong to pee on the wall and floor.  Police called “Aftermath” cleaning service to sanitize the cell; the incident did nothing to shorten Armendariz’s stay as guest of the department.
