Police stopped a Ford Contour at Vacin and Gunderson because of unsafe equipment; its bumper was partly missing. The driver showed ID with the name “Robert C. Hansen,” and an insurance card for a Pontiac Grand Am. The insurance card was in the name “Robert Benedetto”. The officer pointed out that the insurance was for the wrong vehicle. The driver then displayed insurance, also in the name “Robert Benedetto”, for a 1991 Ford Explorer. The VIN number of the Contour was from a 1998 Ford registered to a Melrose Park man. Robert A. Benedetto was charged with driving with unsafe equipment, no insurance, improper use of registration and not having his driver’s license on his person.
