Berwyn Police Blotter

Triple the legal limit for DUI

June 10, 2007, 4:17 PM
A rollover accident in the 7100 block of Riverside Drive involved a car driven by Ricardo Salgado, 24, of the 2600 block of west Belden, Chicago.  Salgado, 24, told police he could not recall the accident.  He said he was just driving when the collision occurred, and had no idea why it happened.  Other drivers witnessed Salgado’s car cross the double center lines and collide head-on with another vehicle, which was in turn rear-ended by a third car.  Inside Salgado’s car police saw an open, partly empty bottle of Corona beer along with another full bottle.  Salgado’s blood alcohol content was .256—more than three times the limit for DUI.  He was cited for improper lane use, DUI, DUI over.08, traveling with open alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
