Miscellaneous Craftsman tools—valued at $1,375—were reported stolen from a residence in the 2400 block of Elmwood.  The victim suggested a Cicero man as a likely suspect.

A couple in the 3800 block of Wisconsin returned from a walk to discover their front door had been pried open and their bedrooms ransacked; a large amount of coins was reported missing.  A witness told police that around 12:30 PM, a scruffy, heavy middle-aged male white in a Sox cap rang her side doorbell and pretended an acquaintance, then offered to fix a supposedly loose gutter on her house.  The woman rejected the suspicious deal and saw the man go to the alley and enter a red or maroon minivan driven by a male Hispanic in his 20s. Other witnesses saw the same vehicle and driver around the same time and said they would recognize him and could help create a composite image for police.
6:50 PM
In the 1900 block of Wesley, two bicycles were missing from a garage whose side door was left unlocked.
