Berwyn Police Blotter

Too close for comfort

September 22, 2008, 12:55 AM
An officer kept an eye on a Jeep after seeing it pull into the oncoming traffic lane, nearly hit several parked cars, barely miss hitting Heritage school on 31st, then suddenly turn right on Kenilworth without signaling.  The Jeep entered the alley, almost striking a garage and a utility pole, but before any other close calls could occur, the officer made the driver stop.  Randal J. Milam, 38, of the 6900 block of 31st, had a revoked driver’s license, so the Jeep was impounded and Milam was arrested.  The officer recovered a bottle of vodka from Milam’s waistband.  He was charged with driving despite the revoked license, improper lane use, no insurance, failure to signal and illegal transportation of open alcohol.
