Teens say gang members attacked them, yelled slogans
March 30, 2008, 5:17 PM
A Berwyn woman told police her teenage son called to say he had been “jumped” at 15th and Harvey by four or five males, one of whom stole the boy’s cell phone. The boy had cuts on his arm and stomach and a bump on the back of his head. He was with a 15-year-old male friend during the alleged attack. The boys said they were walking in the 1500 block of Harvey when three males approached, yelled a gang slogan and took a swing at the younger boy, who hit back. The older boy tried to intervene and lost his cell phone in the process. The offenders left the scene in a black Chevy sedan with tinted windows. The victims told police the attackers wore hoodies; one was known by his first name to the victims, who believe he is from Cicero.
