Berwyn Police Blotter

Teen in bandit garb suspected in burglary

June 2, 2007, 2:40 PM
A woman asked her six-year-old why his bedroom window was open in their flat in the 6600 block of Cermak. The child responded that a teenage boy had left it open.  He said he saw a short teen dressed in black, with a black bandanna over his mouth, crawl out the window carrying the six-year-old’s PlayStation and accessories and a Game Boy.  After the burglar’s exit, the child said, he went back to watching TV.  Meanwhile, at a neighboring apartment, a woman asked her 14-year-old son what was in two stuffed Aldi bags he was holding, upon which the boy fled.  The boy’s older brother, 22, went after the 14-year-old and returned with the Aldi bags, but the teen himself fled and was being sought by police.
