Berwyn Police Blotter

Suspended speeder

August 10, 2008, 8:06 PM
Police stopped a silver Pontiac at Grove and Ogden for doing 54 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.  The driver said he had no ID, but gave the name “Carlos Beltran” and a birthdate; that combination yielded “no record on file”.  He was arrested, and his fingerprints said he was actually Manuel M. Beltran, 36, of the 1900 block of Harvey.  He also had two active arrest warrants out of Cicero.  Beltran was charged with driving on a suspended license, speeding, no insurance and obstruction (for the false-name delay).
