Berwyn Police Blotter

Strangers threaten to trespass, grab unusual birds

August 10, 2008, 6:16 PM
A caller told police that a family of large green parakeets lives in a tree on her property in the 26th St/Riverside Drive area.  She reported three men knocked at her door to ask whether they could go up the tree and take some of the birds.  The strangers claimed to work for some sort of “Animal Control”, and also mentioned something about “Maywood”. The woman informed them that it is illegal to take the birds, and further that they do not have permission to go up the tree.  She said the men replied that they intended to return that evening and take the birds anyway.
