“Stolen” plate already on “stolen” list

A 25-year-old man from the 1400 block of Ridgeland came the the police station to report his license plate had been stolen from his white Buick sedan. The man said he last saw the plate on February 6 at 1 PM, then noticed it missing on February 11, also at 1 PM. He said he needed a police report on the matter to contest a ticket he had received somewhere for having no front plate. But Berwyn police told him the plate number he provided was already on the “stolen” list, having been reported to Berwyn police as stolen way back on October 30, 2007.
