Berwyn Police Blotter

Starving puppy dumped; loose dog captured

November 9, 2008, 3 PM
A woman came to the police station with a puppy she had found abandoned at Cermak and Ridgeland.  The puppy, a male pitbull mix, was extremely underweight, with its rib cage visible.  Police, who fed the puppy immediately, found him to be friendly and happy despite his condition.  The puppy had no collar or tags; the woman said he just jumped into her car.  He was taken to A-American veterinary, where he ate some more.

Callers reported two dogs at large in the 21st/Wesley/Euclid area.  Police found only one dog, a grey and white male pitbull mix with a silver chain and an illegible red county tag, and took him to A-American veterinary for safekeeping.
