Berwyn Police Blotter
Perennial candidate jailed again, suspected in street harassment
December 19, 2007, 11:43 PM
An abandoned 911 call led police to a house in the 3700 block of Wisconsin, where a 69-year-old man stated his 36-year-old son tried to choke him. The son, Richard B. Mayers, was arrested and charged with domestic battery.
The same man was arrested recently for a similar incident:
At 12:42 PM, also on December 19th, a 23-year-old Berwyn woman reported she was pushing her child in a stroller when a man at the corner of 38th and Wisconsin began yelling. When the woman looked in his direction, she said, the man yelled, “I’m talking to you, you (insert racial/sexual slurs here)!” She said the man then chased her, but gave up and entered a house in the 3700 block of Wisconsin. The address he entered was the same as that of the residence from which the abandoned 911 call emanated.
