Residential and vehicular burglaries

A resident of an apartment building in the 6300 block of 33rd St. found an air-conditioning unit—still running—lying in the backyard by the window of a basement apartment.  The tenant was notified and reported stolen a computer and a 42” Sony TV.
2:50 PM
A delivery truck driver made a delivery in the 2400 block of Lombard, and reported his truck burglarized.  He told police he saw two men enter his truck, take his $400 Tom Tom GPS unit, and flee southbound in a blue sedan.  The victim described the offenders as two male Hispanics, slim, ages 18 to 20; one had shoulder-length black hair.
5:55 PM
A tape recorder and a wallet containing ID and credit cards were reported stolen from a Ford Explorer in the rear of the 6200 block of 26th.  The SUV’s windows were rolled down, and it was unoccupied and unlocked. The victim told police he only left for twenty seconds.
