Red-light disregard reveals lack of proper license

September 20, 2007, 1:11 AM
An officer at the 26th and Ridgeland light saw a maroon Dodge Caravan with temporary plates blow through the stop.  When driver Lilia Hernandez, 28, of the 9000 block of south Baltimore, Chicago, was asked to show license and insurance, she produced a driver’s license from Jalisco, Mexico. Asked how long she had lived in the United States, the woman told the officer “six months”.  The officer informed the woman she must get an Illinois license in order to drive.  She was cited for driving without a valid license and for disobeying a red light.
