Berwyn Police Blotter

Red Cadillac impounded for incorrect plate display

September 6, 2007
An officer at Wesley and 26th noticed a red 2002 Cadillac sedan driving eastbound with no front plate, and an illegal tinted cover obscuring the rear plate.  The driver had no ID, but told police he was “Ruben Ruiz Jr.” The front passenger refused to give his name at first; he was Santos Arciniga, 18, and had several active warrants, once from Stickney.  Arciniga was delivered over to Stickney police.  Once the Cadillac driver was at the Berwyn station, he told police he was really Sandro N. Ruiz, 22, of Stickney.  Ruiz had a warrant from DuPage County; he was processed for that.  The Cadillac was impounded.  Ruiz was cited for the license plate violations, no insurance and driving on a suspended license.
