Hat stash discovered during trespasser search

An officer searching for someone in a trespassing incident near 16th and Elmwood spoke with a young man he saw at 16th and Ridgeland. During the stop, police recovered a plastic bag of marijuana, revealed when the man’s hat was removed. Juan A. Diaz, 18, of the 1400 block of Wesley, was issued a $175 marijuana possession ticket. Police spoke with a second person of interest—a 14-year-old boy from the 1500 block of Cuyler, out way after curfew. He was turned over to his mom and received a ticket for curfew violation.
