Posen man charged with battery, resisting, property damage after street fight
April 20, 2008, 3:01 AM
Officers patrolling Cermak noticed one man apparently trying to hit two other men simultaneously as the three stood on the northeast corner of Scoville and Cermak. The apparent aggressor would not stop hitting when ordered to, and police were obliged to use a Taser to separate the men. Once the men were apart, however, the aggressor began to hit an officer in the arms and chest. The offender fled west, then north, but backup officers arrived. The fleeing man was Tased again; he fell down and was handcuffed despite resistance. During the tussle, one sergeant sustained rips in both his shirts, in his pants, and damage to equipment on his belt. One of the offender’s victims was too drunk to explain what went down. The other victim explained that he and his intoxicated amigo were walking back to their cars after leaving LaQuinta restaurant, when the offender offered them a ride. The victim said they declined the offer because it was made by a stranger. That, he said, was when the hitting started. Police charged Adrian Pinon, 30, of Posen, with battery, criminal damage to property and resisting arrest.
