Berwyn Police Blotter
Police arrest five at loiterer-troubled apartment building
October 24, 2007, 3:20 PM
Police saw five people hanging out, drinking from bottled Budweiser beer, near the porch of a building in the 2100 block of Highland—an address that receives many complaints of gang members loitering and drinking. Two of the drinkers, a man and a woman, live and/or stay at that address, and have been told many times by police not to permit this behavior. When reminded of the warnings, both of them told police they were “just having a few beers”. All five were arrested. Landlord Robert Wasiak, 40, of Northbrook, was told to come to the Berwyn police station to discuss the problems on his property. Arrestees were Pablo F. Silvagnoli, 35, of the 4900 block of west Fletcher, Chicago, who was cited for disorderly conduct and use of premises to disturb the peace; and Deborah Czyzewicz, 50, of the 2100 block of Highland, charged with disorderly conduct and use of premises to disturb the peace. The others—Ricardo Arias, 29, of the 1900 block of Lombard; Jesus Sanchez, 26, of the 2200 block of Elmwood; and Jose Arroyo, 38, of the 2100 block of Harvey, were each charged with disorderly conduct. The court date for all five is November 8 and 3 PM in the Community Room of the police station, 6431 S. 31st.
