Out-of-town noisemakers earn Berwyn $2000

A black Chevy Cavalier in the 3600 block of Harlem could be heard 10 car-lengths away, so police stopped it. Driver Eddie W. Berrones, 29, of the 2500 block of north Nordica, Chicago, told police he had an after-market stereo/speaker system in the trunk, set to volume “7”, and stated that he did not believe it to be all that loud. He received a $500 noise-violation ticket, and the car was impounded. Police found a large subwoofer in the trunk.

Police Chief William Kushner and other officers assisted in the stop of a too-loud Olds Delta 88 in the 2400 block of Oak Park Avenue. Forest Park resident Brandon Philips, 19, got the noise ticket, and the Olds was impounded.

A maroon Caprice was stopped at Harlem and Ogden for violating Berwyn’s noise ordinance. Driver Maximino J. Rivera, Jr., 25, of Hinsdale, was cited for the offense and the car was impounded.
6:04 PM
A loud muffler got a maroon Monte Carlo stopped in the 1900 block of Home/Wenonah alley. Driver Eduardo Alfaro, 19, of Cicero, received two noise tickets and one for driving unlicensed. The Chevy was impounded.
