Tactical officers patrolling known gang hotspots came to Highland and Vacin. There, they spotted a member of a well-known street gang walking the alley parallel to Vacin, carrying an open 24-ounce can of “Evil Eye” malt liquor—a brew packing 10% alcohol. The officers stopped him and asked his age; he was 19. The man, a resident of the 2100 block of Highland, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. Police threw out the can and its remaining contents.
