Obnoxious loudness curtailed

A Blazer in the 7000 block of Cermak could be heard 150 feet away, whether auditors liked it or not. Driver Armando M. Gomez, 38, of Cicero, received a $500 noise ticket for the offense, and the SUV was impounded.

Another Blazer, in the 6800 block of Cermak, drew police notice because it could be heard five vehicles away. The driver could not produce the required license and insurance, only a Mexican ID with the name “Manuel Vega-Gonzalez”. The driver told police he just goes by “Manuel Vega”, but Illinois had no record on file under that name. Vega, or Vega-Gonzalez, was issued a $500 noise ticket, plus tickets for driving unlicensed and uninsured.
