License plates: one missing, one just plain fake

September 21, 2007, 8:44 AM
An officer in the 7000 block of Cermak stopped a grey Ram pickup truck that had no front license plate.  Driver Roberto A. Hernandez, 32, showed an Indiana license, although he told police he has lived in Illinois for over a year.  He was cited for no front registration and failure to notify the Secretary of State of an address change.

In the 6500 block of Cermak, police stopped a green Ford Taurus with a license plate that did not appear to be authentic.  The plate was in fact a fake.  Driver Armando Reyes, 29, of Cicero, stated he had neither license nor insurance.  He was cited for driving without a valid license or insurance; invalid plates; improper use of plates, and failure to transfer title.
