Neighbor raises cane
July 30, 2007, 8:41 PM
A woman in the 1800 block of Kenilworth reported she walked to her alley to throw out garbage and was confronted in her own back yard by a 30-year-old neighbor woman. The neighbor called the victim names, swore, and waved a cane at her, threatening to strike her with it. The victim ran inside to call police. Officers found the offender sitting on her own front porch. The offender denied everything, stating she only argued with the victim because, she believes, the victim slept with the offender’s husband. She showed police the cane—a three-foot wooden one with a rubber tip-- and the victim identified it as the weapon. Police arrested the offender and charged her with assault. The cane was taken as evidence.
