Callers complained of a suspicious woman in the washroom of McDonald’s, 6401 Cermak. When police asked for ID, the woman produced a state ID for a “Katherine Stevens”. According to the ID, “Stevens” was 5’2”. This woman was noticeably taller. She was also unable to state the birthdate on that ID. Next, the suspect said her name was “Gerri S. Watkins,” but had no ID for this new name. She was arrested, and a custodial search of the bags she carried recovered seven hypodermic needles, a burnt spoon and two sets of forceps. Her fingerprints showed she was Penny L. Graves, 31, of Chicago. She then told police she had found the fake ID on the street. She was charged with obstruction and unlawful possession of hypodermic syringes.
