Berwyn Police Blotter
Morning graffiti arrests
April 26, 2007, 11:30 AM
Police arrested two juveniles caught with a can of spray paint. They made a statement as follows: they were smoking a “blunt” and had the spray can with them when police spotted them. Both admitted they were gang members and told police their gang nicknames. They said they bought the paint at Murray’s, 21st and Oak Park Avenue, and used it to tag, but only in Chicago. They said they do not do graffiti in Berwyn because of the “heavy heat” the Berwyn police apply to gangbangers and taggers. One of the juveniles said he has a problem with a member of his gang; he says this fellow has done lots of gang graffiti in Berwyn, but no matter how many times he is told to stop, he only responds, “F---- the Berwyn police.”
