August 16, 2008, 11:52 PM
A Chicago woman yelled for police to stop a green van fleeing the scene of a battery at 26th and Ridgeland.  The victim, a 28-year-old man, lay on the sidewalk by the back door of a rented hall, bleeding from the head.  The fleeing van was stopped in the 2600 block of Austin, and its three occupants were positively identified by witnesses as the offenders.

The victim refused to sign complaints against the offenders.  Police cited for disorderly conduct Riguverto Rojas, 22, of Westchester; Octavio Villagrana, 24, of the 3000 block of south Troy, Chicago; and Pedro Villa-Rojas, 21, of the 2100 block of west 51st, Chicago.
