Berwyn Police Blotter

Man reacts violently to breakup

May 11, 2007, 8:28 PM
A 25-year-old Berwyn man unable to accept a breakup reportedly shoved his ex and threatened her both on the phone and in text messages.  The breakup occurred a month ago, the 23-year-old woman told police; the harassment has been going on ever since.  The woman told police he beat her several times when they were together. She called police because when she tried to return money she had borrowed from him, he snatched her car keys and cell phone, got into her car and called everyone on her phone contact list with death threats.  After that, he threw both phone and keys in the street. The man was arrested at his workplace, a business on 26th St. in Berwyn. He was charged with telephone harassment, criminal trespass to a vehicle, and domestic battery.
