Man charged with theft, woman with battery in bar dispute

Police came to Windsor sports bar in the 6800 block of Windsor, where the manager had detained an Oak Park man for an alleged theft. Two sisters accused the man of trying to steal a purse belonging to one of them. The victim got her purse back, but said $20 was missing from it. Police arrested Michael A. Escobedo, 26, of the 200 block of west Washington Blvd, Oak Park, and charged him with theft. As police interviewed one of Escobedo’s companions, 26-year-old Vanessa Moreno, Cicero, approached the companion and reportedly punched him in the face, resulting in her arrest for battery.
