Lyons teen manages to get two $500 noise tickets in two days

An officer stopped a blue Chevy in the 2300 block of Harlem for violating Berwyn’s noise ordinance. The driver was told to pull into Cermak Plaza, out of traffic. The Chevy pulled alongside a white Camry, and the officer observed the drivers of both Camry and Chevy touch hands as he got out of the squad car. Chevy driver Geraldo Monarrez, 17, of Lyons, grew upset during the stop, and failed to comply with police instructions to stay out of traffic lanes. He was handcuffed for his own and officer safety until he was issued tickets for no seat belt and for excessive noise, and until his parents arrived on the scene. The car was impounded. Just two days earlier, Monarrez received another $500 noise violation ticket in Berwyn, and the car he drove was impounded during that incident, also:
