Lyons, Berwyn drivers fined for noisy cars

A blue Chevy Impala, audible over 200 feet away, was heard by police in the 2200 block of Harvey, then the 6200 and 6300 blocks of Cermak.  The car was impounded, and the $500 ticket issued to driver Geraldo Monarrez, 17, of Lyons.

Police gave a noise violation ticket to Roosevelt Cathey, 51, of the 1900 block of Euclid, after stopping his silver Cadillac Deville in the 1800 block of Oak Park Avenue.  The Caddy was loud enough to be heard over 100 feet away, in excess of the 75 feet necessary to be in violation of the ordinance.
