Berwyn Police Blotter

Leashed dog attacked by much-larger unleashed pitbull

October 14, 2007, 11:39 AM
A woman told police she was walking her 55-pound dog on a leash near 19th and Wenonah when a loose male black-and-white pitbull, weighing about 80 pounds, attacked and bit her dog.  The victim said after the attack, she saw a man and a woman, around age 60, retrieve the pitbull.  They told her it got away from them as they were getting out of their car.  They also told her the attacking dog’s name was “China”.  The victim believes the couple lives in the 1800 block of Wenonah, on the east side of the street.
