La Grange Park man’s car strikes ambulance

May 17, 2007, 3:27 PM
Paramedics from Berwyn ambulance 910 were preparing to transport a 92-year-old woman to MacNeal Hospital when they heard a loud bang.  A silver 2000 Dodge Intrepid had struck the driver’s side door with its side mirror.  The ambulance emergency lights were activated at the time of the collision.  The driver, 54-year-old Richard J. Buscemi of La Grange Park, said an unknown vehicle had distracted him, causing him to swerve to the right.  He was ticketed for
failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no proof of insurance and damage to city property.
